Why see Los Angeles Philharmonic - Stravinsky and Shostakovich with Dudamel?
Sheku kanneh-mason delights
Los Angeles Philharmonic are joined by the young virtuoso cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason for an emotional performance of Shostakovic's stunning Cello Concerto No. 1, as well as Stravinsky's fiery Firebird Suite of 1919 and Heitor Villa-Lobos' Uirapuru, all conducted by the masterful Gustavo Dudamel.
Kanneh-Mason came to global recognition when he performed at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, watched on by a TV audience of an eye-watering two billion people. The young master was the first ever black musician to win the BBC's classical Young Musician of the Year award back in 2016 and is now in phenomenal demand with orchestras around the world.
