Wendy's Peter Pan at Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum

Why see Wendy's Peter Pan?

Playing in Rep

Daughter of Will and artistic director of her father's wonderful Topanga Theatricum Botanicum, Ellen Geer ponders the magic of Neverland in this retelling of JM Barrie's Peter Pan. As told by a grown-up Wendy to her children, passing on the wild tales of her adventures with Peter and the Lost Boys, Wendy's Peter Pan celebrates the power of imagination as it ignites every generation.

Second star to the right and straight on til morning, the story of Peter Pan

First created by James Matthew Barry in 1902 for his novel The Little White Bird, Peter Pan then became the subject of his play, Peter Pan or The Boy Who Never Grew Up, staged in London in 1904. Based on the tragic tale of his older brother David, who died while ice skating the day before his 14th birthday, Peter is a magical boy who can never grow up, living in the fantastical realm of Neverland with his gang of other Lost Boys. Tiring of spending their days parentless and at the mercy of the nefarious Captain Hook, Peter seeks a mother to look after them - selecting Wendy as his candidate, beginning the whimsical yet poignant tale we know and love today.
