Why see Escape To Margaritaville?

Spreading that summer feeling!

Jimmy Buffet's sunny new musical, Escape to Margaritaville, is traveling across North America on its national tour! With an emphasis on 'not sweating the small stuff' Buffet's musical oozes with the musician's greatest hits, with it's chilled out party atmosphere it's time to Escape to Margaritaville!

With a book by Greg Garcia and Mike O'Malley and music and lyrics by Buffet himself, this semi-autobiographical musical is named after Buffet's 1977 smash hit 'Margaritaville' which also saw the star inducted into the 2016 Grammy Hall of Fame. Depicting images of ice-cold cocktails and bright beaches, Escape to Margaritaville celebrates life on a tropical island, and is sure you to leave you with that glowing summer feeling.

What is Escape to Margaritaville about?

Escape to Margaritaville follows the fortunes of a charming bartender and singer Tully, who spends his days between shifts seducing the rich female tourists on the tropical island of Margaritaville. Known as a local ladykiller, Tully can sweet-talk his way out of almost any scrape he finds himself in, whether it be an irate husband or frustrated boss. That is until the arrival of a lone, single female tourist who takes her career seriously; Tully falls head over heels but she is as frosty as the drinks he serves behind the bar. Can he win her heart before she flies home, and will the swaying palms and warm summer breeze convince them to both change their ways?

Liked it ALOT!!....GREAT PERFORMANCES

Saw the show in Hartford. I honestly did not think I was going to like it and even tried to give the tickets away..no takers (lucky for me!) I ENJOYED the show and especially the performances by the principals (all of them). I especially enjoyed Kyle Southern's (Tully). Kyle was the understudy...but easily stepped in to the lead with ease and confidence and lead this cast and the audience on an incredible journey. Sarah Hinrichsen (Rachel), Emily Qualamann (Tammy), and Peter Michael Jordan (Brick) formed an incredible group that balanced the story. All were very well suited for their roles and entertaining. Patrick Cogan (JD) was enjoyable as a man of a certain age but fit in very well with the young cast and his role on his quest for his "LOST SHAKER OF SALT". The ensemble...all of them were talented and very enjoyable. There were a few sound cues missed but were not distracting to the show.....GET TICKETS for this show if it comes to your area...It was a nice start to our 20 month absence from the Bushnell and the perfect upbeat show and talented cast to open the LOOOONG AWAITED season!!..CONGRATULATIONS to the entire cast and crew of this show....and THANK YOU!!! ...
