As the old adage goes, all good things must come to an end. In the case of smash hit satirical romantic comedies Jane The Virgin and Crazy Ex Girlfriend, legions of adoring fans must sadly bid their favorite shows adieu... But LA's Paleyfest aims to make the parting sweetly sorrowful with an extra special panel discussion with the stars of both shows during this year's 36th annual TV-centric event.
Loosely based on the popular Venezuelan telenovela Juana La Virgen, Jane The Virgin premiered on The CW in late 2014. Starring Hollywood power player Gina Rodriguez, who used her beginnings on the show as a springboard for feature film acting, the hilarious comedy follows the adventures of Jane Villanueva, a religious Latina virgin whose ordered world is thrown into chaos when she finds out she's pregnant after being accidentally artificially inseminated by her gynaecologist.
The brainchild of viral youtube comedian Rachel Bloom, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is an all-singing, all-dancing romcom about Rebecca Bunch, a high flying real estate lawyer who ups and leaves the city when she bumps into her first love Josh in the street. She follows Josh to his hometown of West Covina, California, in the absurd hopes of reconnecting with many memorable moments thrown in - who could forget the Beyonce Lemonade spoof or 'The Sexy Getting Ready Song'!?
