Not great
This production felt uninspired. The scenic design was nearly amateur. The writing was uneven. The first act was able to hold my attention but the second and third were melodramatic and dull. The dead toreador was wheeled around on a gurney, which didn't fit the time period, and was almost comic in how the buzzed across the stage. Placido and the leading lady were too old for their roles. There was no majesty in this experience.
