The famously tempestuous relationship of legendary artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera forms the basis of this brand-new opera from Grammy Award-winning composer Gabriela Lena Frank and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz. Blending a folklore-inspired score with visuals based on the duo's iconic works, this fantastical tale is set to be a highlight of the season as it takes to the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion stage this November.

Set to a jazz-infused score, it showcases Still's talents, cementing his name as ' The Dean of Africa-American Composers'.

The tour is packed full of premieres and returning favorites, offering a fantastic chance to enjoy the group once again.

With a little savagery of his own, he throws himself into the tasks, growing ever closer to the hard-hearted Princess. This stunning production with a design from David Hockney marks the triumphant return of Puccini's fantasy to the LA Opera for the first time in two decades!
