Why see Los Angeles Philharmonic - Dudamel and Mozart's Requiem?
One of the most recognizable and astounding pieces in the repertoire, Mozart's final work, his Requiem, is quintessential listening for classical music fans new and old. Experience it in its entirety in this recital led by Dudamel and featuring the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
Mozart's final composition, it was left unfinished on his deathbed to be completed by Franz Xaver Sussmay. The intrigue and mystery does not end there. Allegedly commissioned by an eccentric Count to perhaps pass off as his own, the secrecy is said to have driven the already ailing maestro to distraction and he came to approach the piece as cursed and wrote it as his own Requiem as his health failed.
