Proclaimed as the figureheads of the neo-progressive genre, English band Marillion took the rock music of Pink Floytd et al and stripped down the song running times, injected darker lyrical themes and gave it a bit of a punk rock bite. Fronted by Steve Hogarth since 1989, Marillion's style has never stopped evolving, and they've been credited as one of the first musical artists to really utilise the power of their online fanbase to fund their music. Their best known tracks include 'Kayleigh' and 'Lavender', the former of which hit number 2 on the British charts.
2016 sees the release of the band's eighteenth album F.E.A.R, funded through crowd-sourcing. Catch Marillion when this tour plays in , ,
