Why see Kikagaku Moyo?
Final Tour
Following the announcement of their intention to go on infinite hiatus, Japanese psychedelic band Kikagaku Moyo are heading out on their final tour this fall, saying farewell at venues across the country, and giving fans the opportunity to hear their greatest hits from their decade as a collective, alongside their last album Kumoyo Island.
With a name inspired by the geometric hallucinations experienced by drummer Go Kurosawa after an extended jam session, Kikagaku Moyo were formed in 2012 and despite the members' varied music tastes and limited experience, managed to find a small following in Japan before coming to the US in 2014 where they took off on the indie scene. Now ready to pursue new projects, the band said, "We have come to the conclusion that because we have truly achieved our core mission as a band, we would love to end this project on the highest note possible."
