Following their first foray in North America for over a decade, effortlessly cool English/French indie heroes Stereolab are back together and back on the road this year.
Hailed as one of the most influential bands of the '90s, the girls and guys of Stereolab made their name fusing electronic beats and avant-garde lyrics to catchy '60s-esque pop hooks before moving into a more Velvet Underground-inspired space. But be it easy listening bops or jarring guitar licks, we're sure that this long-awaited jaunt will be one fans won't want to miss. As for new material? You'll just have to watch this space!

Great band. Shame about the sound
Stereolab are a truly innovative band that never fail to surprise in their live shows. Unusual, quirky art pop through to Velvet’s influenced sonic driving beauty feature brilliantly presented. I would have given this 4 stars except the Commodore yet again plays everything band so loud these days that the nuances of Stereolab were often completely lost. Often at the Commodore these days I have say it’s often difficult to trace the bass notes. Some loud rumble is all you often seem to hear. Saw Psychedelic Furs and Peter Hook recently. Both had similar problems with the sound. A shout out to support Vancouver’s Apollo Ghost who were charming and good fun. Would see them again. Had a good night and met some nice people.
