In their respective careers, both of these preeminent composers are lauded for their operatic output. Whilst these works appear in most every Opera's repertoire at least once a season, the LA Phil will take you on a journey through some of their non-operatic works in this special program that highlights their pieces for orchestra. 

Simone Young conducts, with contributions from Michael Slattery who leads Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Principal Horn Andrew Bain who displays his talents in Strauss's enduring fanfare Also sprach Zarathustra, known widely and beloved as the theme to Stanley Kubrick's cinematic masterpiece, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
