Revel in the aural delights of a delectable program of great Romantic-era works, featuring the ivory artistry of virtuosic pianists the Labeque Sisters. Led by guest conductor and close LA Philharmonic collaborator Seymon Bychkov, the dynamic duo will take to the stage solo, where their fleet fingers will fly to the hauntingly beautiful heights of Schubert's duet before performing Max Bruch's little known Concerto for Two Pianos with the orchestra. The evening closes with the drama and passion of Dvorak's Czech-inspired Symphony No. 7.
Beginning their life-long association with the piano at the ages of three and five, the Labeque siblings have cultivated a repertoire that extends beyond the classical realm to encompass jazz, flamenco, baroque, pop and even experimental rock music. Praised for a jaw-dropping synchronicity that points toward an almost telepathic-like link between them, their seamless playing is filled with energy, nuance and emotional depth.
Program:
Schubert - Fantasia in F minor for Four Hands
Bruch - Concerto for Two Pianos
Dvorak - Symphony No. 7
